FC Barcelona Ready for Historic Match at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
