I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two time unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
