News has broken that fan-favorite actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.
An Important Return to Panem
The actors are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Speculation suggests their appearance will likely occur in a brief glimpse ahead, given that the original saga concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This signifies the sixth installment in the global Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a 2025 novel by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who directed most of the previous films in the series.
