Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
