Palestinian-American Adolescent Liberated Following 270 Days in Israel's Custody

A Palestinian-American youth having endured nine months in Israeli detention without charge was released.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention last February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing at Jewish settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

The US state department said it welcomed the news of Mohammed's release.

Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, family members reported.

Family described him as pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions contracted in captivity.

Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "immense relief".

Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Currently, our priority is providing Mohammed with the immediate medical attention he requires following exposure to harsh conditions and inhumane conditions throughout his detention."

US officials announced ongoing to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.

{"The Trump Administration considers paramount to ensuring the safety of American nationals"," officials stated.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to the state department and the White House, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.

Mr Ibrahim, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business based in Tampa, previously said his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.

He had not seen or communicated with his son following the detention, and only heard regarding the treatment via legal paperwork.

Mohammed was held absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.

Additionally housing adult prisoners, featuring prisoners sentenced of serious terrorism offences including killings.

Approximately several hundred young Palestinian detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, based on prison authority data.

Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, document cases involving mistreatment and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, the uncle stated they would maintain their efforts demanding accountability for their family member Sayfollah Musallet.

The dual national youth per medical officials was beaten to death by Israeli settlers following tensions last July.
