Two men have been charged related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, police said.

A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. Five people required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
